BOARD OF APPEALS ON CONSTRUCTION AND SUBDIVISION.


LEGAL AUTHORITY

Act No. 76 of June 24, 1975 as amended, known as Organic Law for the Administration of Regulations and Permits creates the Board of Appeals on Construction and Subdivisions. Through Act No. 161 of December 1, 2009 known as the Puerto Rico Law to Reform the Permit Process, the Revisions Board for Permits and Land Use is created and the Board of Appeals on Construction and Subdivisions is eliminated. Also Act No. 81 of August 30, 1991 as amended, known as the Autonomous Municipality Law, gives the municipalities the maximum possible autonomy and grants municipalities the financial tools, and powers and faculties necessary to assume a central and fundamental role in their urban, social and economic development.

PROGRAMA

Case Evaluation, Adjudication, and Judicial Revision

Decides on controversies presented by citizens, arising from actions, decisions and resolutions made by the Administration for Regulations and Permits (ARPE by its initials in Spanish), the Autonomous Municipalities and the Aqueduct and Sewer Authority, as declared in the Law that creates the Board of Appeals.

FISCAL YEAR 2011-2012 ADOPTED BUDGET

As of fiscal year 2010-2011, The Board of Appeals on Construction and Subdivisions, operations and functions became part of the Review Board for Permits and Land Use. The human and fiscal resources were transferred to the Revisions Board as part of this integration.
