COMMISSION TO HEAR MUNICIPAL COMPLAINTS.


LEGAL AUTHORITY

Act No. 81 of August 30, 1991, as amended, known as the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Autonomous Municipalities Act, created the Commission to Hear Municipal Complaints. The Commission is the Agency that processes complaints presented by the Governor, the Director of the Office of Government Ethics, the Municipal Assembly or citizens against any mayor or municipal functionaries.


MISSION

To diligently and efficiently guarantee fair and honest administration of the municipal governments by processing complaints presented by the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico's Governor, Director of the Office of Government Ethics, the municipal legislature or by any citizen against any mayor or municipal functionary and resolve conflicts between an assembly and the mayor.

VISION

To ensure a healthy, diligent, effective, fair and honest municipal administration.


ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

The Commission to Hear Municipal Complaints has two Associate Commissioners appointed by Governor of Puerto Rico with the advice and consent of the Senate. The Commission is comprised of the following organizational units:

  • Office of the Secretary

Municipal Complaints Hearings

Program Description

Process, adjudicate and reconsider complaints from public functionaries and from citizens. Offer consultations to all citizens interested in the services offered by the Commission.
