Training and Work for Inmates in the Industrial Area

Program Description

The Program offers employment and training to inmates and provides them an opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills in a variety of jobs and occupations so they can become self-sufficient, are able to acquire employment and are able to rejoin society.

Customers

Inmates at minimum and medium security facilities that are referred by the Correctional Administration and convicted minors referred by the Juvenile Institutions Administration.

General Management and Administration

Program Description

The Program is responsible for managing the fiscal resources and operational areas of the Corporation through planning and administrative and technical support.


FISCAL YEAR 2012-2013 ADOPTED BUDGET

The adopted consolidated budget for Fiscal Year 2012-2013 amounts to $3,052,000 in Revenues from Internal Sources.

Operational expenses reflect an increase of $62,000 when compared to funds assigned in fiscal year 2011-2012 due to an increment in sales revenue.

Revenues from Internal Sources are generated via the sale of the services and products made by inmates as part of their employment and training opportunities. Products include: office furniture, beds, school desks, court benches, blackboards and computer desks. Services include: woodwork, welding, sewing, mechanical work and design and construction of custom made furniture.
