LEGAL AUTHORITY Act 508-2004, known as the Roosevelt Roads Naval Station Lands and Facilities Redevelopment Authority Act. MISSION To maximize the potential of the Roosevelt Roads Naval Station redevelopment by offering incentives and tools to both, the public and privates sectors. To encourage economic growth in the eastern region and all of Puerto Rico by establishing new businesses (small and medium), as well as renewable energy projects through conservation efforts in the zone.
Redevelopment of land and facilities of the Roosevelt Roads Naval Station Program Description Develops and implement the Reutilization Plan for the Roosevelt Roads Navy Base. It also manages, supervises and administers all economic development projects Customers Ceiba, Naguabo and Puerto Rico east coast residents. FISCAL YEAR 2012-2013 ADOPTED BUDGET The adopted consolidated budget for Fiscal Year 2012-2013 is $1,715,000. This amount includes $900,000 from Special Appropriations and $815,000 in Federal Grants.
Operational expenses reflect a decrease of $81,000 when compared to funds assigned in fiscal year 2011-2012 because advancements have been made in the development of the Reutilization Plan for the military installations, thus maximizing the use of resources.
The federal funds assigned correspond to the Community Base Reuse Plans. An adjustment in the funds received is expected. That corresponds to the conclusion of remaining development work.
