LEGAL AUTHORITY

Act 29-2009, known as the Public-Private Partnership Act, created the Public-Private Partnership Authority as a Commonwealth of Puerto Rico public corporation and ascribed it to the Government Development Bank.


MISSION

To facilitate economic development and to enrich the quality of life in Puerto Rico by establishing partnerships alliances between the government and private entities with the objective of promoting the improvement and innovation of infrastructure and services in Puerto Rico.

PROGRAM

Public-Private Partnership Project Management

Program Description

Evaluates the feasibility and convenience of establishing public-private partnership projects and holds competitive bidding processes to grant partnerships contracts in accordance with Act 29-2009.


Customers

Businesses, industries, public, private and secular schools, hospitals, government agencies, municipalities, universities and the general community, among others.

FISCAL YEAR 2012-2013 ADOPTED BUDGET

The adopted consolidated budget for Fiscal Year 2012-2013 amounts to $5,424,000 from Loans and Bond Issuance.

Operational expenses will be used for payroll and related expenses and for specialized services related to the Authority's contracts. These long term contracts are established with Governmental and Non-Governmental entities in order to delegate functions, services and responsibilities as well as the design, development, financing, maintenance or operation of one or more facilities.

The adopted budget will allow the Authority to continue collaboration with the private and public sector to promote a sustainable economic development for Puerto Rico and establish Puerto Rico as a global goods and services competitor.
